Relationship is the key!

Yesterday, Sunday, was truly a “Sabbath” day of rest for me. I gathered together with the community of believers and worshiped the living God, Jesus Christ, raised from the dead and soon coming King! It wasn’t just a “religious ritual” appeasing the conscience by performance of a duty, but a family reunion enjoying my God and his family and mine, the Church.

The theme for the service was prayer. The key verses were from John 15:5: “I am the Vine, you are the branches. When you’re joined with me and I with you, the relation intimate and organic, the harvest is sure to be abundant. Separated, you can’t produce a thing.” (The Message) When I remain in relationship with Jesus and he with me, I love how The Message puts it:  it’s “intimate and organic.” It’s a living, loving relationship!

In John 15:7, Jesus continues: “But if you make yourselves at home with me and my words are at home in you, you can be sure that whatever you ask will be listened to and acted upon. So, when I am in a growing relationship with God, what He desires, I, too, will desire, and whatever I ask for, I know he will listen to intently and do something about it.

I was truly encouraged and refreshed to be “at home”!
